Tour de France of Wines (taught in English)
A six week tour of the Vineyards of France right here in Atlanta. Alliance française d'Atlanta offers a complete course in the wines of France that will delight your senses, Each week you will taste wines, learn about the grapes used, and how to pair the wines with appropriate hors d’oeuvres.
Tour de France of Wines acquaints students with the major areas of French wine production of the regions of Bordeaux, Burgundy, Côtes du Rhône, Beaujolais, Alsace, Loire Valley, Champagne, Languedoc-Roussillon, and Cahors. Students will discover several desert wines, as well as various sparking wines of France, other than Champagne.
Teacher extraordinaire and wine consultant Labe Mell shares 45 years worth of knowledge of wine. His passion for wine began as a hobby. Currently, he is a wine consultant/broker for Atlantic Wine. He is also a competent chef, specializing in food/wine pairing.
