Dîner Mensuel

Dîner Mensuel

Dîner Mensuel is a program designed to allow people to speak French in a casual setting while appreciating French cuisine.

It is also a great occasion to meet other members of the Alliance, practice your speaking skills outside of the classroom and network.

All levels of French are welcomed ranging from no French to fluent. However, most people who attend this event already have some exposure to French whether they are in the French 101 class or in the advanced grammar/conversation.

Each month we will eat at a different French restaurant with a special menu for Alliance Française members or with the option of choosing À La Carte.

Tuesday, January 24th at Atmosphere Restaurant

In Georgia, more than 46,000 students study French, while investments from francophone countries here provide thousands of jobs. Atlanta’s Francophonie Festival is organized by the Atlanta Francophonie Committee, a multi-cultural collaboration between the Consulates of Belgium, Canada, France and Switzerland, the Québec Delegation in Atlanta, the American Association of Teachers of French in Georgia, the Alliance Française of Atlanta, the French American Chamber of Commerce, Atlanta-Accueil, Ecole du Samedi and the Théâtre du Rêve.

In the Americas, French is one of Canada’s two official languages and the main language in Québec. It is also spoken in French Guiana, Louisiana and the Caribbean. In Europe, it is spoken in many countries, such as France, Belgium and Switzerland, as well as in Africa and the Arab world.

Feast and Film at FEZ

Imperial Fez

2285 Peachtree Rd NE # 102
Atlanta, GA 30309

For the Month of June, Alliançe Française, Imperial Fez and the American Moroccan association are pleased to bring you an evening of North African delights. Enjoy a delicious five course Moroccan feast, while feasting your eyes on the Algerian feature film, Délice Paloma. Délice Paloma is the latest film of Nadir Moknèche with Biyouna. The film tells the story of Madame Aldjeria, her past life, her glory, her dream , and her downfall as queen of petty dealing, 'the mafieuse' , against the backdrop of Algiers and the Algeria of Independence to today. Dinner and film followed by discussion with Q & A, a unique cultural experience not to be missed !

(In French with English subtitles)

Madame Aldjéria, with her team, fixes up other people’s problems in exchange for cash. She doesn’t hesitate to dirty her hands in order to survive in a country where no holds are barred. Paloma, her new recruit, catches everyone’s eye, beginning with Riyad, Aldjéria’s son. Madame Aldjéria is in on a deal close to her heart: buying the Caracalla Thermae. But this is one deal too much, too grandiose; because of it she loses her son and her freedom.
