A1 Beginner Level Summary
The Beginner level (A1) is divided into five classes (101 to 105), which are taught for once or twice week for a total of 3 hours a week over a 10 week period, for a total of 30 hours, unless otherwise specified.
It takes about a year and approximately 135 hours of classes to cover the complete level and to finish the study of the A1 textbook.
At the end of the A1 level, you will be able to hold simple conversations, exchange some information about yourself and others, and talk about things that take place in the past and the future.
Please note that 101 classes are reserved for complete beginners: the pace of the course is slower than level 102.Level 102 is a good level to start with if you are a "false beginner" and have had some exposure to French in the past. However, please take a placement test in order to ensure that you are in the appropriate level.
